Drinking

I used to be a heavy drinker (and I mean lots!). I would go out to a party and bring a 26 oz bottle of rum if I wanted to take it easy, and a 40 oz bottle if I wanted to get drunk. Yup, I had a talent for drinking.

People loved me when I drank because I was a fun, stupid guy who did whatever and didn’t care. Having said that though, I could never get women to take me seriously or be interested in me. They knew I was drunk and probably thought I was just talking to them because I wanted to get laid (and there was probably some truth to that). Obviously, that’s not a good mindset for women to have when you’re trying to get to know them.

What I realize now is that I was covering up for something when I drank. Like most men, I thought it made me more social and I didn’t get as nervous about approaching women. In my head, I thought drinking was good because it made me more comfortable.

FREE Lifestyle Transformations Seminar in Vancouver

On Saturday, May 10th 2008, Lifestyle Transformations will be hosting a FREE seminar which will be held in Vancouver, BC.

These free events don’t come by very often.  The last one we did was back in January with Zan Perrion, which turned out to be a massive success with a ton of feedback.  Everyone walked away happy and gained a lot of new insights and received a lot of value.

That is our purpose — to offer value.  And I can guarantee, during this event we will not disappoint.

The seminar will be around 3 hours long and there will be 4 speakers.  Jason, Cheyenne, Stefan and one of the newest members of our team (whose name I won’t disclose yet).

If you want to receive a ton of value for FREE, while meeting the best dating coaches that Vancouver has to offer, as well as network and connect with a ton of likeminded individuals, then you can’t miss out.

Our last free event had over 40 people attend.  This one we’re expecting it to explode past our expectations.

The focus is going to be on dating and meeting women.  We’re going to teach and share with you guys our personal SECRETS that will rocketfuel your success with not only women and dating, but life in general.  And I can promise you that noone else in the community is teaching this stuff.  Mark my words, these 3 hours will be the BEST investment in time you could possibly make.

How do you register?  Simply click this link and visit

http://www.lifestyletransformations.com/freeseminar.php

The event is FREE, however we are collecting a $20 deposit from all attendee’s which will be refunded to them at the end of the event.  This basically ensures that you will show up, holds you accountable, and gives us a clear idea of how many people we can expect so that we don’t overbook the room (the room fits 90 people and could possibly sell out).

There will also be a FREE DRAW for a Lifestyle Transformations In-Field Workshop held on the same weekend after the seminar.

So again, go to http://www.lifestyletransformations.com/freeseminar.php to register your spot.

Here are a few testimonials for those that have attended our events…

“I want to thank Jason, Cheyenne, and Stefan for giving up their time to teach me a few things. They exude a positive light and welcoming energy. What sets these guys apart from others is their philosophy for always giving a value to the world which is genuine and also quite humbling.

If you’re tired of mundane success, and want to quickly and drastically improve your lifestyle, Lifestyle Transformations is true to their name. Check them out.”
    Jason C, Vancouver

“Lifestyle Transformations… offers to help guys get their act together - not just with women, but in all areas of life.”
    The Georgia Straight

“The results speak for themselves. After only a couple of hours of coaching, I was transformed from being afraid of approaching girls, to having absolutely zero fear at all. The following weekend I met many girls during the day and night, without Stefan’s supervision, including one I like a very much, and who I shall meet this weekend. I like to think it was me who made this change in myself, but it wouldn’t have happened without Stefan guiding me.”
    Andrew, Ireland

“Jason and Stefan are two great guys who just want to help the average man achieve success with the female gender. I was amazed by what I learned in terms of scenarios and words that I could say to women, in what I never knew before I met these fine gentlemen. I’m happy I have met Jason and Stefan and the experience I had will always be with me as I continue to find love and happiness.”

Timothy Ferriss - The 4 Hour Work Week Review

The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss

The book I just finished reading for my 8 Week Book Reading Challenge is called The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss.

I originally learned about it from my roommate and then later by people I’ve met. It’s been getting a lot of hype and publicity, being a New York Times bestseller. I had heard a lot of great things about the book, so I decided to check it out.

And after thoroughly going through the book, I am happy to say that it is an amazing book and I’m glad I picked it up. It really opened my eyes to a lot of great ideas and a new way of looking at things in life.

The book is all about how to “escape the 9 to 5, live anywhere, and join the new rich.”

Most people spend their entire lives WORKING and looking forward to retirement, which is when they’ll finally get the opportunity to travel and be free to do the things they really want in life. Whereas Timothy believes that retirement isn’t the goal, but rather we should LIVE and ENJOY our lives today.

That’d be great, except most people live in the cultural hypnosis that we need to work 40+ hours per week to be successful and wealthy. Or that we need to go to college or university and then afterwards find a job and work until we’re 60 until retirement.

It’s the Journey, Not the Destination

I’ve been reading the book The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss (book review coming soon) and on the last chapter there is a poem that I really liked.  I thought I’d share it with you guys.

It’s called SLOW DANCE by David L. Weatherford.

        SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?

When you ask: How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done,
do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.

Ever told your child,
We’ll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time
To call and say, “Hi”?

You’d better slow down.
Don’t dance so fast.

Time is short.
The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,
It’s like an unopened gift thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower.

Hear the music
Before the song is over.

The Fastest Way to Learn - Total Immersion

I just got back from a 4-day immersion seminar in LA. And before that, Jason and I just finished doing a 3-day immersion bootcamp with a few students here in Vancouver.

Let me tell you, the experience was powerful. It was unlike any other experience I had been through.

The two immersion events in a row helped me come up with an amazing realization, that has completely changed the way I view mastering and learning a new skillset.

I’ve said it a few times already… TOTAL IMMERSION.

Think about it… would you rather learn the Greek language by attending a weekly class, or by going to Greece and immersing yourself in the Greek culture?

Delivering The Goods

You may have seen them – those rare men that are excelling at a rapid pace – and you may be wondering what their secret is. I don’t know, and frankly I don’t care. What I do care is that YOU are excelling at a rapid pace. And I’m going to share with you one of the most powerful mindsets to do that, starting TODAY.

Take a moment and think of the last time you were out being social and meeting people.  Now if I was to ask you to tell me with complete honesty and integrity what level you were playing at on a scale of 1-10, would you say 100? In fact, when was the last time you played at a 100? Or worse, have you never played at a 100??

If you want to get good fast you have to push your boundaries every time you go out. Whether its rolling into a group of 9 guys and 1 cute girl, or chasing her down for 6 blocks to make her day, or deciding to get your second and third and fourth wind when things aren’t going your way.

As you’re answering this you may wonder how this translates into results. Your mind has already begun rationalizing that it’s not worth it. What’s the point, after all, you can go and approach this other girl that’s standing there by herself. Easier? Yes, and in the short-term it may seem like the better way to go. But you will deny yourself the most amazing growth and long-term results if that remains your philosophy. This whole thing isn’t about instant results, it’s about what kind of a man you become.

What is Intimacy?

For most men, answering that question is more challenging than asking them how to win a game of Connect 4 in 3 moves. Women typically want more intimacy in their relationships, but the problem is that most men do not know what that means. As you can imagine, this is an issue.

If most women say they want more intimacy, we need to know what it is? Out of curiosity, I decided to look in the dictionary. It said things like:

- Close familiarity or friendship: closeness
- Involving very close connection
- Private and personal
- Closely acquainted, familiar, close

Another common misconception is that most men think intimacy just relates to having sex, but do you notice how nothing in that list specifically relates to sex? In modern times, people often use the word intimacy to mean a sexual relations (i.e. I was intimate with her), but intimacy does not necessarily have to be sexual. If you ask a woman about intimacy, you will realize that it is so much more.

So, what is intimacy and how can I have more? Good question!

Eckhart Tolle - The Power of Now Review

It took me about a week and a half to finish reading Eckhart Tolle’s popular book, titled “The Power of Now” for my 8 Week Book Reading Challenge. I was sure to spend extra time re-reading certain concepts and principles so that I could have a better understanding of his materials.

While difficult to read and comprehend at times, The Power of Now is without a doubt a remarkable book.

I kept hearing more and more about it through friends and other members of the “community“, so I decided to check it out.  And, interestingly enough, Eckhart Tolle happens to live in the Kitsilano area in Vancouver (where I live).

The book is written in a cool FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) fashion.  Because spiritual enlightenment can be difficult to understand, he focuses on answering questions from others throughout the book.  I found this very useful and it helped me have a clearer understanding of his ideas.

The primary principle in the book revolves around the concept of “being fully present.”  Or, in other words, “living in the NOW.”

“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.  Make the Now the primary focus of your life.  Whereas before you dwelt in time and paid brief visits to the Now, have your dwelling place in the Now and pay brief visits to past and future when required to deal with the  practical aspects of your life situation.  Always say “yes” to the present moment.  What could be more futile, more insane, than to create inner resistance to something that already is?  What could be more insane than to oppose life itself, which is now and always now?  Surrender to what is.  Say “yes to life — and see how life suddenly starts working for you rather than against you.”

Eckhart talks about how people are constantly thinking compulsively throughout their day-to-day lives.  This is what I usually refer to as “stuck inside your head” or in a completely “logical” state of mind.

They’re either thinking about the PAST or the FUTURE, rather than embracing the moment fully for what it is.

In relation to approaching and meeting women, the secret to receiving positive responses and generating high levels of attraction revolve around your emotional state”, or as Eckhart says “being in the moment.”

And, ironically enough, conditioning guys to think less and be more and more “in the moment” is the one thing that is stopping the typical guys I coach from massive success with women and dating.  It’s usually because they’ve been CONDITIONED their entire lives to be compulsive thinkers and analytical, and their lifestyles reflect that — for example, sitting at home avoiding parties and social activities to be on the computer.

The Importance of ‘Practice’

Check out the funny video of Allen Iverson saying the word “Practice” something around 25 times.

I think one of the most important principles of success is the concept of PRACTICE.

Remember when you were a “newbie” or a beginner at something, whether it be dance, a sport, or even “the game”?

How did you become good?  How did you improve and attain that level of mastery that you have today?

PRACTICE.

I think most people, myself included, lose value in the simple fundamentals of the game, such as “going out to practice.”

There is no limit to growth.  There is no level where you’re “too good to practice.”  There’s always another level.
